Ted Williams),who is the cousin of John Lee Hooker, for 3 years. He taught me a lot of things, about Mississippi, about Soul Food, how to live in Harlem... whatever. So, when I lived there, sometimes I felt that Black culture and Japanese culture were similar, particularly the spirit of the BLUES and the spirit of Japanese "KARATE" and "WABI-SABI". You know, sometimes I think that BLUES men don't play a lot of tones and don't play loud. But people can feel good Rhythm, Chords, Melodies, Grooves... And they listen carefully to the other sounds while they play. It's cool.You know, "KARATE" and "WABI-SABI" are the same way. I used to do "KARATE" when I was a kid. The most important thing is the spirit. I mean "SOUL", not Fighting. One time, my master said" Close your eye, then just feel it. You can see everything"Floyd told me just like same thing, too. You know, it's hard to explain it in words. If you have a chance, come down to see me at one of my Gigs.You can probably figure it out.  Meanwhile, I had learned Jazz at the "Jazz Mobile" in Harlem. My master of Jazz guitar was Michael,who used to play with Dizzy Gillespie and Art Blakey... he taught me a lot about Jazz. Now, I am back in Japan, and still keep on playing BLUES here. I'm trying to play music that is a mix of BLUES, SOUL, JAZZ, and some Japanese SAMURAI SPIRIT stuff. Then I'm gonna make something new. I mean, my own original style. Now, I got new men: TAKEZOO (Gt), HIDE(Dr) and MEIDAI(Ba). We are developing "BLUES" to "NEW BAD SHIT !!
